Past

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, graduated high school in 1992 and accepted a very prestigious position as a ski-bum (Utah's other religion). After about 8 years of Pabst, hot wax and season passes, I decided it was time to finish up some schooling. I took photography as an elective course and that was it. After a couple more years of school (too bad I can't trade two Associate degrees for one Bachelor) I began assisting photographers and shooting anything I could get my hands on.

My wife and I moved to New York in 2004 and I started assisting some great photographers like Nathaniel Welch and Hugh Kretschmer. I was referred to a wedding photographer for more assisting but wasn’t really interested. However, I needed the work and wasn't doing anything else that Saturday. Again, that was it. My first day assisting the brilliant Cappy Hotchkiss changed the rest of my life.
